FD mount lens for a T1i

I have a friend that offered me a good deal on their barely used Canon FD 50mm 1.4 lens but I honestly know nothing about the lenses... Would this even work on my camera? I know they work with EF and EF-S but is there an adapter for FD lenses? Would it be worth it?

My understanding is that adapters of FD lenses exist but they're rare and expensive. I did some research into it a few weeks ago.

IHi Sara and Angela.. I ddi have the canon fd 50mm 1.4 its a manual lens but very good glass it could also be used for a macro the adapters for these are around
40$$ cdn i have a one which i use for my M 4/3 camera, heavy and solid ..Just thougth i would let you know about the lens ,
