Photographing your heroes

Last weekend, I played at a music festival with Axel. Also on the bill for the same stage was one of my biggest musical influences, Franz Nicolay.

Obviously, it was very exciting, for me, to meet Franz, having been a big fan of his for some years, and watching his set at the festival gave me some great opportunities to photograph him in action!

So, I was wondering - has anyone else here had the chance to take pictures of their heroes, or people they admire? (Could be in any field - musicians, sports stars, local celebrities, or whatever!)

@grimbo This is Tim, lead singer of 'Mike and the Mechanics' ... He's got me media passes for their gigs at Ipswich and Birmingham. You'll see him wandering round behind the main stage at the Isle of Wight as well, though sadly not me. If you do see him, tell him Ed says "Hi". Seriously, do.
