I rarely take photographs of people, and when I do I never ask them to pose, but I do like to grab a fortuitous shot that occurs naturally, so lets see a few more!
(Taken at the Beamish Museum of Northern Life. The volunteer guardian of this print shop was aware and quite happy to be photographed but I took care not to interrupt his thoughts).
I love PJ portraits. Wish I had time to do more of them. Here's one of mine - we were actually headed to our location for a model shoot when I grabbed this.
Like, you I rarely take portraits at all. However, I recently had the chance to snap one of my ultimate musical heroes - Franz Nicolay - in action, at a music festival near here. (One of the artists I work for - Axel Loughrey - was playing on the same stage, the day after, so I was able to get 'round behind the stage with my Artist Pass to get pictures of Franz with the heads of the audience getting in the way)
So, here's a shot I took of Franz, while he was playing his set -
I hate posed portraits, so when I'm taking photos of people I almost always try to get natural unplanned shots of whatever they are doing. I took quite a few of them while traveling last week, but I particularly enjoyed this one:
The guy learning to use the jigdoll (limberjack) is my husband but he was too engrossed to notice me.
Practised motion blur on Morris dancers and got this.
She knew I was going to be taking photos, but not exactly when. I really struggle with pictures of people in general, so try to capture them when they don't know about it.
