365 Book?

June 18th, 2011
Is anyone planning on getting a book printed of all your photos at the end of your project? I really would like to do a book, maybe a coffee table style book. Does anyone know a good place to get these made? I know lots of online sites such as shutterfly....snapfish, etc. But is there a book that would hold 365 photos?! That's a lot! Any advice would be appreciated! I also post my 365 on facebook and so many family & friends already have told me I need to print a book and they want a copy! :)

I am thinking about making a book. I haven't thought very much though, as I am just struggling to get through one year of the project. Does anyone have a clue to go about making such a book?

good idea!

I'm planning to print mine, I've already have it started on shutterfly and add a couple weeks of photos at a time.

If you only want one picture per page, then Shutter fly could get very expensive. Also, if you are looking for something lasting, I would look into using a pro lab such as MPiXpro, WHCC, or leather craftsman. all of those are going to cost more then snapfish, but they will be a layflat top quality album that a lot of pro photographers use for wedding albums.

I'm a fan of Blurb and will use them if this year ever ends.

I plan on making a shutter fly book. I've done a couple of custom books with them for our vacations and have always been happy. They fun a lot of promotions, like 20% off or free shipping so I plan on keeping an eye out for that.

Blurb is what I'm planing on using.

I have a lot of photos that I don't like and would rather keep them hidden back at the beginning of my calender but I was planning on doing a calender next year with my favourites.

I am hoping to do a book so I have this year of my kids in print:)

I am new to this but I am already thinking about doing somethin like this

I am also planning to do book, i am using shutterfly and doing it one picture at a time so that by the time i finish my 365 my book would be done too. =)

I make a book on a monthly basis, warts and all, a big one at the end sounds brilliant, looking at the journey I've taken. I just use an online photoshop to do mine....

I am compiling my book as I go along. I'm using Blurb.com they allow something like 420 pages max. The quality is superb, the software is easy to use and the delivery is good too (I have made other large books through them too).

i've used both snapfish and shutterfly and they are both good! a 365 book is a great idea!!

I just bought a replacement point and shoot due to an unexpected death of my little guy, and it came with a free 20 page 8x8 shutterfly book coupon. i am going to pick from some of my favorite pics on here and put together a january to june a photo a day book. i will probably do a june to december based on quality.

Now that I'm about half way through my project I've started to think about putting a book together. I'd like to not only have the pictures, but the commentary as well, however I'm not sure I can download the pictures and words- figures I'm thinking of this now, when if I'd been doing it all along it would be a lot less work! It's a good idea though.

Most certainly will be. I also use Blurb. Their quality is brilliant and if you know how to use Adobe Indesign you can even design your own without a template. They have loads of templates as well with so much flexibility in the design.
I have used them in the past and am very happy with them.

Have fun!

I want to get all my 2011 photos in a book but I've never tried it before, not even a Hoffmann album, so I'm glad you mention it to gather different opinions here and there. What I know about Blurb is something I read a few months ago at Chez Larsson blog: http://chezlarsson.com/myblog/2011/01/365-days-in-print.html All in all, and via the comments to her post I jumped here: http://www.ontakingpictures.com/2009/09/the_good_the_bad_and_blurbcom/ and http://www.ontakingpictures.com/2009/10/the_good_the_bad_and_blurbcom_1/, so I don't know what I will do.

I've just looked at blurb- it sounds good to me
June 19th, 2011
@rleonard I just downloaded the Blurb software! We'll see how it goes! :)

I've used Snapfish and Albeli to make books before but they're nowhere near the quality of the book I've just had back from Blurb. Can't recommend them highly enough.
