they are extension tubes, they go between your lens and your camera for super macro shots. here are a few i have done with an extension tube kit + kit lens
They are so much fun. I just found out about these after an article written on here in the discussion boards. They were about $10.00 in the U.S., and they are so much fun!! I took the following picture with the whole stack of extension tubes that came in the pack. The face of this little guy can barely be seen with the naked eye. Pretty crazy!!
Just received mine today, ordered only a few days ago! Will post the penny pic I took with them, think this is going to be fun but need to learn a little. Tried to take flower pics but windy outside and I could not get a focus.
@joshuaramey i'm gonna bet you aren't close enough to what you are shooting. the photo of my daughter's eye that I posted....i was literally using her forehead for stabilization of the lens, with the end of the lens. physically move closer and closer to your subject to get a feel for how close you need to be....then you will get the hang of using the lens focus to move in and out.
yeah, i would start with one....the more you use at once, the closer you have to be.
i only use mine with my 18-55 kit lens, and i'm usually down closer to 18mm.
