Rephotography

Got this idea from a link to the web site http://dearphotograph.com/ . The idea is to rephotograph an old picture exactly in the context of how things are today. I was home visiting my parents for the weekend, which was a perfect opportunity to dig out a few old photographs. This is my favorite of the few that I tried. What do you think?

Katie I think this is a really cool idea. I love how you have lined it up with the sidewalk and the side of the house. I think you did a really good job. After I viewed it I was trying to think of a photo I could do this with LOL! Thanks for the idea!

i tried this and i failed completely, i do not have a steady enough hand to line it up and hold it there for a picture. lol

I keep seeing the dear photograph site posted everywhere and keep wanting to do this myself, will have to dig out the albums and see what I can do. I'm quite lucky in a way that my parents still live in the same house they've lived in since I was about 3 years old. lol. Loving all the photos here.

@archaeofrog You can't see the stove or the pain on the walls, but they've both been changed too. It looks much better now than it did in the 90s, that's for sure.
