CSS Template Code

June 22nd, 2011
When I was at College nearly 12 Years ago, OMG thats scary to think it was that long ago I set up a site LisasALevelPhotography well I removed the ALevel part and decided to keep it running for My Photography that I do now anyhow it was originally created in Freewebs now known just as Webs but I must be fussy I cant find a Template I like, it gives the Option to use a CSS Code so I googled CSS Photography Templates and found a few nice Free ones but they all said download and when I downloaded them they were Zip Files, I just want a CSS Code to add, I just want something that is Photography related maybe including the small Black and White Logo I have on my Facebook Photography page, Anyone know how I can do it so I just Copy and Paste a code rather than downloading as Im not very clued up with Zip files etc.

when you down load a zip file right click on it and it should have extract,,, click on that and save the file and then you should be able to do what you need... copy and paste etc.. from the now un zipped folder.

@lisahutchinson if you don't have something to extract zip files there is a free program that you can download. http://www.win-rar.com/download.html
As Nikkers said, the css code is in the zip file and you should be able to use it when you unzip it.

Brittany's right, the code should be in the .zip either as a plain text or ready to go...

For adding your logo you'll need to add the image to the page - how did you make the original page?

If the css is offered as download you will probable not be able to just copy and past it. To be able to do a copy-paste it must be somewhere on the internet as a singe file and you must know it's exact address, like http://etcetc/stylesheet.css

If there is a CSS file in your zip-file, and you can extract it like Brittany told you above, it should end with the .css extension.

Also Googled for templates. Most of them are called css-templates but are in fact complete solutions for showing images online... It depends on what you want. I believe you cannot just place a new css file in your existing website unless the css you found is meant to work with 'Webs'. If you are not sure about that you should not use the css.

Is your website online? And where did you get the css. If you like I can take a look.

@mastermek Its www.lisasphotography.net but be warned its looking basic and has only 2 Photos I have not had much spare time lately, All I want is just a different background really it gives the option of a blank template where You can add CSS Ive only really worked with HTML before and thats with Forums. Thanks all for the replies.

@lisahutchinson IIt looks like you are using your own domain with a freeweb template. Is that correct? Do you have ftp access to www.lisasphotography.net?
June 22nd, 2011
@mastermek I originally had it as www.lisasalevelphotography.webs.com I think then I got the domain , Not sure what You mean by ftp.

@lisahutchinson Ftp is 'file transfer protocol'. You got your domain and some location on the server of your provider. To make your website you need to place your files (html, images, styles like css and other documents) on this server. Only then people can visit your website. You use ftp to put these files on the server. Did you place files at your new domain yourself? Did you get login information from your provider?
