Lillies & Cats

July 16th, 2011
Totally off topic, but I heard a warning from a vet this morning on the radio. Lillies are highly toxic to cats, even if they get the pollen dust on their fur or paws, they can become seriously ill. If they ingest the pollen or attempt to eat or chew at the plants, it can kill them. Record number of cats deaths have been recorded this year due to lillies.. Just so you are aware..

yes, i've heard that before! isn't it bizarre?! my mum always takes the pollen stem bits (i'm sure they have a proper name!) out of the lillies before bringing the flowers in the house!
