missed opportunity

last night my husband took the kids to the park and I walked with them before heading out for a run. The grass was high and I saw some cool mushrooms. I thought about going home & grabbing my camera, but decided that I would just come back in the morning and get the photo. Well, OF COURSE when I went over there the landscapers had already been by and cut the grass and the mushrooms were gone. boo hoo!! that will teach me to put off taking a good pic!
anyone else got a missed opportunity story?

This winter, I was on my way to work when I saw this building that had amazing icicles hanging off it. I didn't have time to stop, so I thought I would stop the next morning. Of course, they had melted by then. Boo!

My husband's homecoming. Due to security, we couldn't take cameras down with us.

It's a lesson we all learn if we are serious about being photographers. Opportunites are ever changing and we must be ready to capture the moment when it presents itself. Of course if cameras are not allowed somewhere we need to be respectful of that otherwise it's a permanent part of us that is easily accessible every day. So, don't go putting it where you can't grab it in a heartbeat.

That happened to me a few times... now if I see something, I go and grab my camera as soon as realistically possible, before the moment (or flower, or mushroom... :D) is gone.

The same thing happened to me, I keep seeing these purple weeds that seem to only grow on major highway curbs and places I just can't stop my car and get out. But, Last week driving to work I finally found a bunch that was in a place that I could park my car. I didn't have my camera. So I told myself I'd pick up my camera when I get home, well on my way home from work, I noticed that the town came and mowed.

I try to remember my camera everywhere I go, it seems if I don't then of course some strange thing like a streetcar drives by me...ah to see the world thru the len...it is probably an addiction of some sort. ;)
