mpix mettalic paper

Had several photos printed on mpix's metallic paper and loved the result. Covered them with mats and acrylic before framing. Now learn that mpix won't sell the metallic prints with glass (they don't offer acrylic) if they are doing the framing. Has anyone framed the mpix prints before and how and with what results? I'm worried. I can't see framing/matting but not covering - seems weird. But I DO love that metallic surface.

I've only used their metallic prints unframed. How does the acrylic affect the look?
Have you tried sending them an email asking why? I would theorize the ink or coating might stick to the covering material.

@lilbuddha - thanks for responding. They look really fine covered. You've seen the paper so you know what it looks like - not obviously metallic - just highly saturated and someone said like the the old CIBA film. Are you framing yours? Matting? I'm just having trouble picturing what I would do with them besides traditional framing. And would you dust them or what when they're exposed? I had one done on a box type frame they do - that is, it's just affixed to a black box a couple of inches thick. It's gorgeous. And yes - the problem they suggest is the one you cite. I contacted another company that does metallic prints and they said no problem with covering and that I don't even need to worry about adding spacers which was my idea - more space between cover and print.
