I don't have alot of money to buy a new photoshop, but does anyone have any idea where I can buy a (new) older version that should be cheaper? I am not good enough yet to spend that kind of money on my photo's. Thanks so much for any help on this issue.
Not sure. Have you tried GIMP? It is free and quite powerful. http://www.gimp.org/
Also, Photoshop Elements is nice and considerably less expensive that Photoshop.
I tried to buy some photoshop elements but I was told you have to have photoshop to use the elements. I have not tried gimp yet so I will give that a try for sure. Thank you so very much for your help.
You don't have to own Photoshop to use Elements - but it helps to know how Photoshop functions to use Elements. I would also recommend Adobe Lightroom, which is a solid program for processing and organizing photos. As lil Buddha mentioned, GIMP is available, is open source and free. I've heard too that the interface is getting more and more similar to Photoshop (there's even a distribution of GIMP called GIMPShop). Good luck!
p.s. you may be able to find Photoshop CS2 or CS3 for fairly cheap, perhaps even CS4.
Peggy I use photofiltre free to download from Sonic web site.. lot like photo shop and good to practice while saving up to buy photoshop.. lol
I do all my editing with photofiltre..
I was doing a license transfer recently for CS5 (cross-platform transfer) and read somewhere on the Adobe site that licenses are actually transferrable between people. Of course, most people upgrade their versions rather than buy complete new ones, so this may be of little help in the long run, but it may be possible to find someone with an old version they no longer need and, so long as they have deactivated their installations, you should be able to install and use their activation key. I did this very thing for my father when I bought Lightroom 3, and he now has my old working copy of Lightroom 2 that I no longer needed.
