hey guys I'm pretty sure I'm about to buy a "Nifty Fifty" (50mm Fixed Prime Lens), but before I do I'd love to see your shots taken with this awesome little lens... Please show me your wonderful shots to spur me on to make the purchase!!!!

I have just spent all evening researching these lenses as I want to buy one too! I was actually tossing up between a 35mm f/1.8 and a 50mm f/1.4...I think I have decided to go with the 50mm.

It's by far my favourite lens - probably 98% of my 365 photos have been taken with it (the exceptions being the rabbit, the moon, and the kite surfers - in each case just a bit too far away). I love it!

I find it's not the fastest lens and so it's great on a tripod or taking a picture of something very still but not great if your object is moving

I use a 50mm 1.4 on my D700 for almost all my shots.
(If you are using a crop factor camera you might want to check out the 35mm to see which one you like better)
