Lost/Deleted Files

Have any of you ever taken and deleted a file or a whole bunch of photos and went stark white with panic? I just did this with our photos from our trip to Rochester. Now after a little helpful advice I was told to find a program that would recover the photos for me. I did and it is a free for 30 days. It recovered all the photos but now I can't get to them as I need the code. What a nice little way to tease me. They are there and I have to buy the program. Good news is I have them though... :)

Oh my gosh, how awful. I'm so glad you were able to recover them. I uploaded an editing program last week and it started downloading all of my photos into it and I panicked. I thought I might lose them all. I took the computer back to a point before I did the download and the photos were all still in there and it uninstalled the program. Phew

Found out later that it was okay for that program to do that. It wouldn't have hurt my files and I wouldn't have lost the photos. It was pretty scary, though.

It is awful... I did it and then panicked because I was like oh no.... How could I have done that without making sure that they were safely on the external hard drive. Just need a little help from my techie husband to finish it up. :)

Adobe fills them into a organization program. The first time that happened to me and that was like uh oh. Picasso was the program. Afraid it was going to save over my originals.

@kitdelite I did that a week ago (I posted about it on here). I used three different recovery programs that were free, and all of them gave me back mostly messed up pictures! Varying degrees of grey areas blocked out some parts, and in some cases ALL of, different photos.
My son said to me, as I was fretting about losing my coworker's son's pictures for the billionth time, "Did you look in your 'recently changed' file on the computer?" My computer has Windows Vista and has a file called "recently changed". Because I had uploaded the pics to my computer, and then they were deleted, they were considered "changed". and there they were!! Intact, not greyed over... perfect! YAY for teenagers! (at least, in this case... haha!)

@nickshore @2thgirl @theonlydolphin @mittens I was able to use a free program called pandora recovery from cnet.com. It was able to restore all the photos and they are perfect. No grey on them any where. George you might want to try that out for your iPad. Hope it helps. I am a happy girl now.... :)
