Every year, Boobiethon asks people to submit pictures of their chests (bare or clothed, male or female) to help raise money for breast cancer research. This is their 10th year, and I thought maybe I would spread the word here - I know it's a potentially controversial idea, but perhaps someone here might be interested.
A brief idea of how it works:
People submit photos of their own chest
Pictures are checked against guidelines (ie. no faces, nothing below the waist, nothing sexual), resized, and processed (males by males, females by females)
Clothed photos and male photos go in a public folder, which is viewable by anyone
Bare female pictures are placed into a donation-only folder - I believe that last year the minimum donation to get access to the photos was $20, it may have been higher.
So, just thought I'd throw that out there. They started taking pre-launch submissions today, and it runs officially October 1-7. If you're not comfortable taking pictures, or submitting pictures, they also need people to blog/tweet/edit photos/etc - their website's main page is always safe for work, totally appropriate, and can link you to further information.
I guess to clarify, when you donate you are not donating TO Boobiethon; it is a fundraiser in which your donations go directly to either one or the other.
I'm the event coordinator for the Boobie-Thon and just to answer a few questions.
Boobie-Thon receives no money at all. We are a pledge-drive. When the event starts, our donate page is updated with links to donate directly to Komen (which is tax deductible) or the Bloggers Helping Bloggers charity, which is different every year.
The BHB charity is the foundation of the Boobie-Thon and how it started 10 years ago and we have continued that tradition every year. This year's BHB charity is a blogger, who has also supported and volunteered for the Boobie-Thon in the past and was diagnosed with breast cancer last November. More details about her and her story will appear on the site when we launch October 1st!
Hopefully that clears things up! Thanks

Just as we have done in the past we will be supporting a Bloggers Helping Bloggers charity as well as Komen.
It is Susan J. Komen For the Cure, and Bloggers Helping Bloggers. Almost all of the money goes to Komen.
@dvarey I'm glad you find it encouraging, and congratulations on being a survivor!
