So I entered a few pictures in the state fair

and this one, the only one I thought would have a real chance of getting any recognition, placed 4th in the "Other" category.



and a version of this one, only without the black background, received "Honorable Mention" in the "Floral" category.



I didn't have a chance to go see any other entries, just to judge for myself where I rank.
I'll try again next year. :)

Congratulations Jennifer! I had intentions of entering into our county and state fairs, but ended up being gone for the county and lacked courage for the state. After viewing the state fair photography exhibits, I will definitely enter next year. It helps to know what types of shots the judges like. Only 1 in 10 even qualify to be put on exhibit at the Iowa State Fair.
