Ok. This month some time, perhaps in 2 -3 weeks time, fellow 365er Deb Mayne @debmayne will be travelling around North Qld and will be gracing Brownsville with her presence.
Now, I'm thinking this is as good an opportunity to meet and greet Ms Mayne and show her the wonderful sights that Towntown has to offer.
So, who is interested in a 365-meet-up?
This opportunity is available to any Cairns, Townsville, Charlies Trousers, Ayr, Home Hill, Bowen, or even Mackay 365ers who are keen to meet up!!!
Yes any of the gardens would be a nice location or the Strand may also be an option as there are also various spot to sit and enjoy something to eat. Has Ms Mayne visit Townsville before?
@bobfoto I thought about Ali too because she mentioned a while ago that she would like to meet up @ali1974. I still won't rule it out completely... we've already got the crutches on standby :)
This does sound awesome. I'm working that afternoon (the Sunday), so that's out for me, unfortunately. Sunday morning is clear, and late afternoon Saturday, but I'll happily send my delegate (Koshi) along in my stead if the Sunday afternoon is going to be most suitable for everyone. :)
@jinximages@bella_ss@debmayne@rach_who - I have a prior engagement on the Sunday morning, but apart from that, I'm cool. As Rach and Sheralee have some distance to get to Townsville, then it would be best to hear what time suits them. I'm a local and we know Deb will be here, so I can be flexible.
Late Saturday afternoon sounds pretty good if we want Mr Jinx along! From what Tadii was saying, a photo shoot with the man is a learned experience...
@bobfoto I don't think I can make it at all, we're actually going to be up north that weekend. We've had accommodation booked for some time but didn't think we would be able to go because of David's knee but he's practically running around already. I hope you all have a great time, I will be very envious!
I will be there mid Saturday, so Sat arvo sounds good! I really only know you JD and @jinximages so would be good to catch up with your both! Anyone else will be a bonus. Always up to meeting new people!!!!! :0)
@bobfoto I can get away around 4pm, all going well. Sunset is 6:14pm that day, so plenty of time for photos, especially if we play near the ocean rather than in the shadow of Castle Hill. Of course, I'm happy to catch up wherever people are, if it is kicking off earlier in the afternoon (if the Saturday looks to be a good option for others, that is).
@indiannie_jones - why certainly of course Annie, I am sure we would all love to see you here in Australia... in fact, I daresay if you were able to be our guest then perhaps other Australians from down south would even head north for the weekend!

Not to throw a spanner in the works, but how about Pallarenda? Less people, more interesting things to shoot, and good light right up until the national park gates close at 6:30. If that seems problematic, the rockpool might be better - more variety of locations - though it isn't that far to walk along the Strand to other places anyway.
@debmayne We will, Deb ♥ besides, I wouldn't mind coming to Oz next year... I haven't seen my bff in almost three years and she's a student so it makes more sense for me to go to her :)
@debmayne@jinximages - Pallarenda sounds perfect, I like your idea Mr Jinx, and I have always wanted to see it in the late evening... but what I shall do is most likely meet up with Deb earlier in town and travel down to Pallarenda with Deb and aim at 1630.
And dinner at a Pub sounds good.
And just to get the word out. I know of some artists who are exhibiting at the Perc Tucker Gallery for the next two weeks or so as part of the Townsville Art Society (TAS) Annual Prize, and the opening is on this Friday night. I checked out a few pieces of original art yesterday and it looks like it is going to be a good show! No photography section yet! But it is worth a look.
@debmayne@indiannie_jones - Oh Annie, 'tis a pity you have sooooo many Australian 365 friends, because like I say Australia is such a large place, it would be exhausting if you aimed at visiting all of us!!!
