I started a page on Facebook, called Every Woman is Beautiful. I find beauty in everyone and everything, and I hope starting this group will help Women to find confidence in themselves. Who ever defined beauty? Who says you have to have flawless skin, or that you have to be thin or wear make up to be Beautiful?? The Media. Well ladies this isn't true, you are beautiful no matter what anyone says! The world ugly does not exist in my vocabulary when describing a human. Please like this page and spread the word! The Link is below! Thank you!
This has inspired me to do a week's photo-shoot proving that every woman is beautiful (might even include some selfies in it!). I'll start week beginning 31st October.
@crispypringles4 well I don't want to hijack your thread but I think this:
1. That female beauty is really portrayed by the western world in a very narrow way, marginalising so many women who don't match a type.
2. Of late, in the era of photoshop I think it's getting worse, even in men's magazines I no longer find the models even attractive because of how aribrushed they are, they're become featureless and perfect suggestions of what a woman looks like.
3. Flaws are really integral in beauty, the airbrush-pirates don't realise how boring this perfect super-model beauty is
4. Finally, as I get older and a little rounder I see a very scary thing happening to men too, the way the media paints a slightly overweight man in his thirties/forties who is still single as an outcast. Stereotypes are scary and I'd hate to think what kind of stereotypes people apply to me when they see me shuffling around the woods with a camera. It's sad how we judge each other. As much as the girl in the advert is frighteningly thin and stunningly perfect, the man in the advert is successful, rich, muscle bound and has a full head of hair.
I'm gonna tag my photos with: " wearebeautiful " so if anyone wants to join me they can. Did a photo for it today, although will start properly on Monday :)
