First tip: follow me. Cause I'm awesome. Just ask around ;)
Second tip: take from my example and join in on discussions, post photos, share insights. Never, ever be afraid to ask questions. We are all very friendly here and we never degrade anyone. Actually, there are a few I degrade, but it's not because of their photography.
Third tip: sit back, relax, and enjoy the site. I think you'll love it.

Hi Dawn, This is my first day as well. I am not a photographer, by any means (all my pictures are taken with my iPhone or a point-and-shoot), but I love to take pictures so thought I would try this out and hopefully learn something, too. I found out about it through an article in our local paper this morning, and I think it's a really wonderful idea. Good luck to you!
