World Bird Sanctuary

I love volunteering at the World Bird Sanctuary and I certainly hope my followers like the pictures I take of the birds that reside there.

I just thought I'd share with the larger community what it is that we do there. This is a true success story about a Bald Eagle that was injured and carefully and lovingly rehabilitated and released back into the wild.

Enjoy! If you are ever in the Midwest, put it on your list of places to visit. You never know, I might be on duty!

Very interesting. In Wisconsin, we are fortunate to have the Raptor Education Group located near Antigo, about 35 miles from my home. It is an organization dedicated to caring for injured or orphaned native bird species and public education on wildlife issues. Check it out at http://www.raptoreducationgroup.org/

@laynesgram Wonderful! A site with a purpose that lines right up with what we're doing here in Missouri. In fact, we recently took in some bird from a facility in Wisconsin that didn't have the capacity. Not sure if it's the same place but I'm certain our staff is familiar with the Raptor Education Group. We are networked with a large number of other organizations across the country that ultimately have the same goal - rehabilitation, release, propagation, education, etc.

Sandra, thanks for sharing this. I'm nowhere near or I would visit. Great work!
