I'm only using my iphone for my posts, but I can work on them a little with the iphoto software on my Mac. Does anyone have any suggestions for software for a Mac that might also work and that would be a bit of an upgrade?

Photoshop elements has all that you'll ever need, and is easy enough to get to grips with, it'll guide you or do it automatically until you begin to find your way round the software for yourself. Highly recommended!
Aperture for basic editing and storage. Pixelmator has been so much fun to play with too. It is a lighter version of Photoshop Elements and great to learn on.
