I love the fisheye for portraits... cool distortion on noses and foreheads!

The fisheye is great for capturing massive tall things, like huge trees!

And landscapes.

It is also good in low light and for capturing still lifes.

@chelseap92 - in regards to advice... the fisheye will freak out your horizons and distort right on the edge. It is up to you and your eye as to how you use that. In my selfies, I do crop some of the distortion out, and it then leaves you with just a big wide angled lens. You can get some software editors which can reduce the distortion created by the fisheye.

Little UWA (ultra wide angle advice)... you can obviously get away with much slower shutter speeds than normal... but that can cause motion blur within the frame... so well the horizon might still be sharp at 1/10, the leave blowing the in the wind may not...

See how the building is sharp but the zamboni is moving...

You may have noticed there will be an crosshair in the middle of the lens both up and down and left and right where nothing bends... off those lines things bend... but I see you are already using that in your photos...

Also... you can get close often with an UWA with min focus distance of like 1/2 inch at times... or at least things being within your FOV... so get close... really close...

@bobfoto I think you may have converted me. Up till your shots I will say I loathed the fisheye lens.....may have to try again.

@voodoochild - its all about thinking about what your tool is going to do. The shot I like is the one of me at 4am where I have my hair down on the left of screen. The original pre-processing shot has some cool angles of the bed and bed side table... But i cropped it to not appear a 8mm 180ยบ fish-eye lens.

Thanks.

@chelseap92 @voodoochild - The fisheye can also be used to alter depth.... check this one:
