I saw that one recently. It made me want to just chuck my camera out a window, since I'll never take a photo that amazing. Then it made me want to take my camera out with me for a little walk:)
@grecican right?? I know when I got MY picture of a dragonfly, I squealed with delight, those things have NO attention span.. had i taken THAT picture, I would have shit myself!!
This is my pic
@chasingwishes throw some gold backlit rainy bokeh in there and you've got yourself a National Geographic shot! It is a lovely dragonfly capture though:)
@pwallis lol at chuckin the camera out the window... and I have NO IDEA how to do any background stuff with editing, my pictures are mostly usually SOOC, with my new addition of sticking my name on them, and some have changed to B&W, and a few have color help. Other than that, I lost my photoshop program a few years ago with my old desktop computer and I can't afford it right ow, and Picnik is limited even with the pro account which I have.
Wow. Sad part is the photographer admitted this was a dumb luck shot. Some of the best shots are the ones we weren't trying for. I don't possess much of that dumb luck though. I have managed to make the National Geographic daily dozen page once in 2 years of submissions. That won't keep me from trying.
Does anyone else here submit to them?
I love taking photos. I also love playing the piano. While I won't be performing at Carnegie Hall or featured in National Geographic, it doesn't diminish by passion. I can appreciate a fabulous concert or a fabulous photo with the same joy. Otherwise, most of us would have to pack up our cameras and leave the 365 Project. Thanks for posting this link. It was inspiring.
