I have a friend, his name is Theo. He is a treasured Teddy Bear and the first present I ever got from my M. I just thought I would ask everyone to share a photo of their favorite treasured item and post it with pride for everyone to see.
What is this I’m feeling, like I wanna hold back?
So I borrowed this courage that cost P150 per pack
I hope I can make it with this teddy bear
To show my love to you and that I really care.
Last night I asked myself, where I really stand.
Am I in your heart or just a state of mind.
I felt sadness of the thought that I am nowhere to land
Is it on a mushy loam soil or sparking world of sand?
Though it seems that I cannot hold on,
One day we’ll be surprised that we are not alone.
I tried to search for a fellow teddy
But I think they are all not ready
So I called a close friend with panda spirit
Cheerful, intelligent, ideas are infinite!
@craigdtull Ahhh..He looks like he has been with you a long time. So sweet. I use to have a doll named Alphie. He was from Romper Room. Does anyone even remember that show? My Alphie eventually fell apart. He is still a treasured memory.
So my picture isn't off the stuffed animal directly. In 2006 I lost one of my best friends, my grandmother. I was 19 at the time, my sister was 21. But we have two younger cousins on that side of the family, they were only 8 and 1(or 2). They didn't quite grasp what was going on. We went to Build-A-Bear together as a family and all us "kids" made a bear in honor of our grandmother. I made a stuffed dog, and picked out light-up shoes for it to wear. I had a pair when I was a kid and my grandmother used to pretend to make fun of how silly it was to have lights on your shoes. But she still bought me a new pair when my lights stopped working. So these are the shoes from that stuffed animal. It's still sitting on my desk, right next to a picture of her from her wedding and a tulip (her favorite flower).
And the backdrop of this picture is actually my security blanket from when I was a baby.
@jtilly42 I think that is a lovely tribute to someone who obviously meant a great deal to you. My daughters photo (Which I posted a few days ago) Has her holding the build-a-bear she had made for her before she was born. The bear I have as my treasured item is mine, but my daughter has quite a few bears and things. I have bought her a build-a-bear, a Vermont teddy bear and a Charlie bear. Memories are sometimes the strongest thing we can give ourselves to honor those things that mean most to us..just remember..it's not the shoes that matter so much as the memory they invoke. Hugs. Thanks for sharing this story. It means a lot to me that you took the time to share. Long descriptions are always the best.

If you look closely you can see the furry one.
And here's my dearest fluffy thing, Mei Mei... (she's sitting on a mirror)
