Collaborative Theme

Matt and I love 365. We are just learning how to use effects and photography editing software, so we are enjoying making mistakes and happy accidents. Today we decided that we would do a collaborative effort.

I took a photo and sent Matt a copy of it. We then separated to our computers to mumble and fret over what we would do for our own project. We have seen the WWYD theme on 365 and enjoy seeing what everyone comes up with. The only thing I wish was different is that there is only one photo a week!

With our idea we would have people pair up into teams of 2. Then post the link of the other person so people checking out their photo can also check out the other persons version. Its just an idea for a little extra 365 fun, and what makes it cool is that you can do it whenever you want. No waiting for the week to end so you can do more! I can also see people having a real photo-off with others voting on which photo is the winner of the day! Matt would love that (He's so competitive) With this idea people could really get into the 365 community experience.

Here are the photos we did. We would love to know if anyone else decides to do the same challenge.

Everybody Loves Someone

What Matt has to say about his version:

Bekki (nectarfizz) and I wanted to see what each other's take on a photo might be as we have different approaches and styles when it comes to photography. She took this shot, then left it to me to do with what I wanted with it. I thought it might be quite a nice idea if I emphasised the world weariness (as I see it) of the wooden geisha which almost seems to be sighing. Then along comes the butterfly to cheer it up.

I added the butterfly and did the pencil effect with Photoscape.

This ornament has been sitting in the bathroom for ages and has been splashed with shower water and dried out so many times that it looks a little sorry for itself and a little disgruntled. :)

So, I couldn't really tell if you wanted us to vote on your pics, but if I WERE to vote, I vote Bekki, just because I love the colour and it does look very Asian to me. (No offense Matt - yours is great too, I'm just really digging the colours:)

The WWYD is weekly, as far as I can tell. What I like about it is we can keep working the same photo over and over in different ways. It's good for practicing and learning our editing programs.

You and Matt have a fun thing here between the two of you. It must be surprising how you both view things. Two creative people together sharing a passion for photography and editing is a good thing. I hope to see more of your collaborative works. :-)

@dmortega We chose not to compete, but M would like to know which you like best and what it was you liked about it. :)

@dmortega Thanks I agree. WWYD is awesome and I enjoy it very much. I enjoy doing things with Matt. We do our best thinking together.

Ha! Color trumps! They both are great and it's really hard to pick one over the other. I like the colors in yours and I like the simplistic approach on Matt's. But since I have to choose .... color trumps, so yours. ;-)

FWIW: Don't get too competitive. You both have something to offer with your unique perspectives.
