**New Macro Challenge** "CRYSTALS" 10/29 - 11/26

October 28th, 2021
Thank you to @sonyguy for hosting the previous macro challenge. And thank you loads for voting for my own entry, "Oil be damned", leading to me being overwhelmed because it's the first time I've ever won any sort of challenge! ;-)

It's taken me a week of racking my brain to come up with a theme that didn't look as if it's been done before.

I chose "crystals" because it gives you quite a range of options for macro work. I was surprised at how many crystals I was able to find just in my kitchen. ;-)

Given this is a macro challenge, the idea is to take a close-up “macro photograph” of small objects to make them look life-sized or larger. Ideally a dedicated macro lens (1:1) is the right optics to use; however, use what you have. Try to fill the frame to get an incredible amount of detail with your subject. Focus is important so use a tripod if you have one. Also, just have some fun with this challenge.

The challenge will run from
Friday 29 October to
Friday 26 November

All photographs must be taken between these dates, and you can enter multiple times if you like. (Please do!)

Please tag your entry: macro-crystals
