It's back again! International Purple Day for Epilepsy. This it to make it known to everyone that Epilepsy isn't an invisible illness; and to keep the awareness alive. Join me and others in wearing purple on March 26th... and put your photo up on Saturday to let us know what you wore.
Now, I'm going to make this fun - just like last year - and let you wear what you like. It could be a favourite purple pair of sock, a hat, ear-rings, shirt, bra, knickers... anything you like... and let's see what we all come up with!
Let's keep this alive for all of those who suffer from this disability - and that includes me as well as some very famous people such as Hugo Weaving, Danny Glover, Vincent Van Gogh and Julius Caesar.
I will join in with this one. My sister has epilepsy and like @fernessa1955 son it is uncontrolled. I had never even heard about this champagne before! Is this worldwide?
@zowie : Yes. It began in 2008 with one little girl - Cassidy Megan - who founded Purple Day and she has kept it going making it a massive thing. http://www.purpleday.org/
@harley84 such vibrant colours! :)
Why are there so few entries into this theme? Seems like it is a cause that really needs some help! I hadn't heard of it before seeing this and my sister is epileptic!!!
@zowie I don't know! I was wondering the same thing! I used the tag but when i tried to look for it under tags i couldn't find it. I saw yours under purple, maybe thats where they are going? I hadn't heard of it b4 either until i saw the post on the discussion board and i think it is definitely a cause that could use some more exposure !
Thank you all for taking part in this theme; even though it wasn't as popular as last year's effort (look up tag: purple_shirt_day and click on photos and you'll see more photo from the 2010 lot). I hope that next year I'll give more warning about it and more people will jump in and get out their purple gear and wear it, photograph it and let us know what they get up to.
Thank you Amanda. It's for a worthy cause. Last year's theme was a lot of fun and there were more people doing it... look it up under my calender from 2010.
