It's amazing the difference in the faces. I think this is brilliant! If I knew how to do this, I would be so all over it! I'm going to check back and see how it went for others.
I'll have to see if my IT husband can offer any technical support on this. I'm so curious now! But I have no skillz in photo editing...so we'll see. I'll definitely post it if I can!
@lmj_106 I guess I can't be the only person in the world to first do this, but I don't know. I never saw anything like this. It was something that I had wanted to do for a long time but never found the time to do it
almost like the could be related, or a brother or sister! this is really cool, i'd like to give it a try, or at least take the picture of myself and let someone more photoshop inclined work with it. lol
Definitely an interesting project. I think it is important to ensure consistent light however (flat lighting) so each "half" isn't lit entirely differently - one can make even a non-composite face image look entirely different with different lighting.
@jinximages Yes, I thought about that while editing. It's just that when I took the photo I didn't think the results would be so amazing. I might try it again with better lighting
@jannaellen Those two halfs are from the same photo? How did you manage to smile with half of your face? haha One looks happy and the other one looks regular.
Can't wait to see your symmetric faces!
Ok, edit: It entered at your photo and read the text :)
@lluniau I didn't say it as something wrong. I mean, on the original photo they seem symmetric. The difference appears when doing the faces.
I also like this last one! It's more like a reloaded version, I like it :)
I'll just have to glue myself together now...

(the change isn't really all that drastic... I just seem to slim down from left to right... ha ha ha)
Although, in anticipation of one photo with no parting, and another with two, I put as much of my hair into a headband as possible!
I've made another attempt (which I'm a little happier with) -
