i tried taking pictures of my friend today and i was just wondering if anyone has tips on making human pictures interesting since having someone just standing or sitting isn't always interesting.
I like 'off guard' pics when the subject isn't posing, agree with Sare though, some great results can be had from wardrobes and different settings. I like to play with unconventional portraits, I find them more fun and less comparable to others.
i find that if you throw an unexpected animal at someone it makes for a pretty interesting portrait. just grab your nearest pet and put it on your subjects head.
I find that is the best way to capture someone's true beauty and personality.
Yes, we all like getting those great "set-up" photos.
But just getting my model to act normally or getting them to laugh, has brought on some of my best work!
it's hard to capture someone who's soooo aware that you're taking photos of them. most of my human photos are candid, especially of children. i like positioning myself when they're busy, doing something else, then i call them. i snap the moment they look at me and it's pure beauty no matter what their expression are or how you post process the shot afterwards.
I would browse "portrait photography" on google to see what you come up with :) try doing some searches on line to get some ideas!! I know what you mean though...taking pictures of people isnt exactly easy.
