Um, yeah I *know* that's how it works, but I've never *seen* it at this stage. Normally I only see little black tadpoles, but with these you can tell what they're going to look like.
Neat capture. Before long the little legs will start showing up, then the tail will get smaller until it disappears. I saw tadpoles all my childhood days, growing up, playing in streams and creeks.
@grannysue I spotted these in a drainage ditch near that goes under someone's driveway. Doesn't seem like a very good 'nursery' but at least it's been raining enough to keep things pretty wet.
