2017.01.08 Sunday: We experienced another day of bitterly frigid cold today ...Our backyard birds spent the day trying to keep warm by eating and flitting about constantly. At times there were 4 species of birds at our feeders at the same time!
This little Downy woodpecker sheltered on our deck for a few minutes, watching the feeders and waiting for some room at the suet. He ate his fill when his turn came!
Sweet little downy! How lucky he is to have access to a feeder during frigid temperatures. We have the same type of weather here, and we've really been enjoying the feeder activity. Birds add so much joy to life!
