2017.01.31 Tuesday: Today felt like a mid-spring day: sunny and warm, with a warm southwest breeze. Our grass is already turning green; foliage on our spring flowers is already springing up; the birds are getting more and more active with each passing day. It was hard to believe that it is still winter here!
The weather was so comfortable that for quite a while I sat on a bench on our patio, watching the birds flit about as soon as they forgot my presence.
One of my favorite sightings was this awesome Red-bellied woodpecker -- He perched high up in our maple tree and peacefully surveyed his domain.
Lovely commentary, Dinah; and you caught the red-belly's striking red head so well! Your love and respect for nature is evident, and I enjoy your project so much. :)
