Stealthy Approach

2017.03.01 Wednesday: This Downy woodpecker was quite stealthy in her approach to the feeder, clinging to our deck to make certain that no predators were around.
I'm amazed that she could keep a grip on the wood :)

As lone as the woodpecker didn't have your deck for a treat!

Super shot of this gorgeous woodpecker! They're always so alert, aren't they? I always know when a hawk is nearby, because the birds become motionless. Amazing to think that while we are enjoying their wonderful presence at our feeders, they're out there simply trying to survive. Nature is fascinating in so many ways.
