Mimosa

2017.06.05 Monday: Mimosa growing wild at Harvest Square Nature Preserve --

Mimosa has always been one of my favorite trees; even though its soft wood and tendency to spread everywhere makes it "undesirable" to most people, I admire its tenacity! I think that its blooms are lovely, and they have a wonderful fragrance!

It looks beautiful. Mimosa has made it's way to some of our northern wetlands. The rangers are always on the lookout for it and try to get rid of it before it takes hold.
