2017.06.29 Thursday: This summer we have enjoyed watching Ruby-throated hummingbirds flitting about our yard. In addition to this nectar feeder, I placed a good many red flowers throughout our yard, hoping that they would notice!
Determined to get a pic, I stood as still as possible near our feeder -- and was soon rewarded by the sight of this awesome hummer!
great shot! They've just started coming to ours- a pair. I don't know if I'll be able to capture them or not as this year I was unable to put out more flowers which does attract them.
@olivetreeann This is the first summer that we've had hummingbirds stick around ...They usually just migrate through in the spring and fall. This year I filled our yard with red flowers (mostly petunias) and hung several baskets of flowers from our porch. It has certainly paid off!
