Barbeque Supper by dsp2

Barbeque Supper

2017.07.03 Monday: One of our family traditions is to have barbecue around the 4th of July ...When I was growing up my family always had Chicken Stew and Barbecue to celebrate the 4th, so my husband and I continued doing so when we got married and through the years as our children were growing.

Now the outdoor cooking has passed on to one of my sons (he enjoys it and does a much better job than me!), so he seasoned the meat and cooked it in our smoker for well over 24 hours. (We have an electric smoker, or this would not have been possible!) It was especially delicious this year -- and wonderful that it was accompanied by cucumbers and tomatoes from our garden!
Smoked chicken done like this would have been tender and so tasty! Lucky you for this great meal!

I'm so interested in your food photography, Dinah because I too would like to improve my skills in that area. This is fabulous. Well done.

How do you get the black background?

@susiemc Thanks -- food photography is harder than it looks! I got the black background by propping up a large black cookie sheet behind the food, and then using photoshop to blend in a dark background that had a bit of texture so it wouldn't be just solid black.
