2017.07.14 Friday: In honor of their 80th anniversary, Krispy Kreme had a sale on their donuts today ...buy 1 dozen of any type donut for regular price, and get a dozen regular donuts for 80 cents. We don't eat donuts very often, but thought that it would be fun to take advantage of this offer.
My son and I waited until early afternoon to drive across town to the local Krispy Kreme -- only to find a long line of cars (coming from both directions!) that was backed up onto the road.
At first I thought I could just get out of the car and go into the building, but upon trying that I found a mob of people lined up waiting to get into the building! So I trudged back to our car, happy that my son had stayed in it to hold our place in that line.
We were pleasantly surprised to find that everyone was patiently taking turns; that is not always the case in our area!
It took us around 50 minutes of waiting, but we spent the time just talking and enjoying the time together ...and came away with some delicious flavors of donuts: Cake Batter donuts, Oreo Creme donuts, and New York Cheesecake donuts. I sampled a small piece of each and found them to all be quite tasty!
