As described-a half house- one of the nifty Mushroom Houses designed and built in Charlevoix by native and legend Earl Young. The Mushroom Houses include 28 of the most fascinating stone structures ever built.
This is a wonderful capture of the Mushroom house. I like the pov and the yellowish goldish trees in the background. I was going to go take one today to post, since I'm a block away from a couple. 😄 But your photo is so nice, I think I will wait.
when I saw this it made me think of a historical building reasonable local to us :- One of the mysteries surrounding its origin is the legend that the Ugly House was built in a single night by two outlaw brothers in the 15th century, as a ‘Tŷ Un Nos’ or ‘house built overnight’. According to an ancient law in the area, if you built a house between sunset and sunrise, complete with walls, a roof and a smoking chimney There was a time when if you could build a house in a day and send smoke up the chimney, it would give you the right to throw an axe as far as you could from each corner of the house to claim the land as yours. It is known as the Ugly house because of the rough stones used. now a popular tearooms. http://naturalhomes.org/the-ugly-house.htm
