Walked round St Paul's Cathedral today and when looking at the enourmous front doors noticed the graffiti scratched into the walls ... 1762! I also love the decorative work on the door frame.
I did see one piece of graffiti by "R.Barnard, age 14, 29 April 1939" and walked back to work wondering where he ended up 4 years later and aged 18 in World War 2 ..
