Fowler, Indiana still has an old-timey, single screen theater.

Garrett has one also....I saw many a movie, including "To Kill a Mockingbird", in this kind of theater.

All the theaters I used to go to were single screen...the biggest fanciest ones were downtown in Chicago. I still remember sitting in the front row watching "How the West was Won" (and getting an incredible stiff neck) on New Year's Eve one year.
