This statue of Kate Sheppard, New Zealand's most famous suffragette, was a feature of the "March to Change New Zealand's Shame" calling for action to address sexual and domestic violence, organised by the Women's Refuge organisation. Permission to display it at Parliament for the next three months fell through shortly before the march, so who knows if it will be seen in public again. I hope so - it was stunning. The "Bring Back Kate" campaign is about stepping up to call for change the way she did - bringing back her spirit and determination
