Nest Building

A while ago I found a paper wasp building a nest on one of the wild sunflowers growing in my backyard. I thought it was an odd place to be building a nest (He was building it right where the main stem and leaf connect). Later I discovered the nest was gone. Perhaps it became too heavy and broke off.

Anyways, I decided to take the wasps nest and add it onto another photo of the same kind of flower he was building the nest on originally which resulted with this. So although this is edited it isn't far fetched. Haha

Cool capture and edit.

I have found wasp nests in some unusual places but never on a flower. Great capture!

@rickster549 @milaniet Thank y'all very much!!!

@skipt07 Thank you!
Me too, I didn't think a wasp would pick a flower (I find they mostly build them in the bushes or on my house)..... Perhaps he chose it because he would be close to a good source of food for the larva. Haha
