Tonička

I have to tell you a story - so day before yesterday (thursday) after work I called my mom and she just told me "I am busy call me later" - which was quite unusual because I knew she is already at home from work.
Meanwhile in Oleksovice ...
Kuba (with his new girlfriend) went to see sheep and for a walk, they saw one of them ( her name is Elizabeth) didn't rush to them as usual. It seemsed she was haveing some kind of "pooping trouble", they came closer and saw it was a lamb's head, she was giving birth and it didn't went well. The lamb was far too big for her to do it on her own and it in addition it was in wrong possition.
My dad (and mom) rushed to check on her, he was worring it will be too late for the lamb but trying to at least save Elizabeth. She (with a lot of help gave birth to a lamb) and didn't care about it because she was exhausted and confused (it was her first lamb and usualy when it didn't go smoothly the sheep doesn't care about the lamb at all).
The lamb was not breathing, Kuba checked pulse and it was irregular and very weak. So he and dad did some CPR, trying to make the lamb breath. It eventually worked, heart rate was quite good and the lamb started breath on its own. Its head was swollen and my dad later told me "I though the lamb has five percent (or less) chance of survival".
At this time it was crucial to persude Elizabeth to take care of the lamb, because if the lamb doesn't drink milk in first hour it usually dies because later on it is too weak to stand up and drink.
So they helped Elizabeth to bond with her new lamb and it worked! She licked it and let it drink milk after a while. And since then we have new and unexpected lamb. (unexpected because usually lambs are born till end of March and our sheep were quite young so we didn't think they will have lambs this spring).
We decided to call the lamb (since it is a girl lamb) Tonička, because the ram we have is called Tonda (it is male version of the name). I hope you don't mind - she is super cute, she is walking just fine, sometimes trying to run and her belly is always full, Elizabeth takes good care of her. So it is the happy end of this scary story.
