We visited Silver Islet which is on the same peninsula as Sleeping Giant Provincial Park. It was once known as the richest silver mine in the world. The mine shaft was beneath the icy cold water of Lake Superior! We were surprised to see a cruise ship tender at the dock. A Viking cruise line ship was anchored in the bay and there were many cruisers enjoying a snack at the General Store Tea Room.
