I was lucky enough to capture this Black Swallowtail butterfly as it landed on my zinnia. It is interesting to note that the Black Swallowtail's flight is much quicker than other swallowtails and it flies closer to the ground than other swallowtails do. Black Swallowtails usually live about 10 to 12 days, but some can live up to 35 to 40 days.
Very lovely capture Kim, and thanks for the info about the black swallowtail, none of which I knew before. How sad that the life of such a beautiful animal is so short. Anyway, this is a fav for me. (I love zinnias!)
