Country Living

This was, at one time, a little house on the prairie.

If you look at the Earth without architecture, it's sometimes a little bit unpleasant. So there is this basic human need to do shelter in the broadest sense of the word, whether it's a movie theater or a simple log cabin in the mountains. This is the core of architecture: To provide a space for human beings. - Peter Zumthor

Nice old house and nice thoughts!

Nice photo, we have plenty of those what I call "DIY houses" around in Sweden too.

You can almost imagine what it might have looked like when it was originally constructed and the pride of those who built it. Nice capture- and great quote!

I love that and wouldn't it be nice to explore it's history, particularly the people that lived here. Great capture Kim.

Kim this is an amazing capture. I can almost see a family working around the house. This is a FAV for me and should make it to the PP in my opinion. This old of a house to still be standing tells us alot about the craftsmanship that went into things back then. I love how you captured everything so perfectly.

@snowy I bought the quilt top at an antique store. I was just thinking I should do a collage of my mini quilts. May have to work on that! Thanks!

Poor old house! It probably looked pretty once and in its own way looks pretty still. Nice shot, I like the quote very much too.
