I dreamed I was a butterfly, flitting around in the sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man? ~ Zhuangzi
If I've identified this correctly, it is a white lined sphinx. There were two on my butterfly bush and they only paused for a second before flitting to the next spot. Enjoy your day!
Thanks to Catherine W. @wannabe for sharing that this is commonly known as the hummingbird moth and to Hope @mzzhope who identified this as a Pink-spotted Hawk Moth.
I saw this on the "why do you hit the fav button" thread. OMG! Instant fav! A flying moth or butterfly like this! instant fav! I love how not only do we get to see him clearly, in focus, but I see his view of the flowers up ahead...wonderful wonderful shot!
This shot is even prettier than the one above I just love that he's in flight. Love how his right wing is evenly in alignment with the groups of flowers Perfect. FAV
