I have "picniked" this one all kinds of ways. It reminds me of what some of the auras that I get with migraines look like. You won't believe what this began as. Check out my Extras album for the answer. HInt: found in a store.
Thank you for your comments and suggestions. I appreciate them. I am still trying to catch up on comments from being at a reunion Friday evening and Saturday,
OMG, it's on my list to recreate one of my optical migraines. They don't look anything like yours. Do you know the artist Klimt? I swear some of his patterns are from optical migraine auras. This is a really awesome image!
hope you just did a picture and did not have one. I get just one crippling headache a year and am more bothered by sound and any movement than the light trails most everyone gets. My headache hit last night and I could barely walk home but it has passed now. And I guess that this is the bubbles from a watermelon originally.
@5unflow3r Never heard of Klimt, I will look it up. I can not look at flashing lights as they trigger them. They start out as a black spot with colored edges, slowly growing larger, sometimes have radiating lines, then turns to something resembling a backwards C with jaggled, broken, multicolored glass with sparkling light radiating. I have been wanting to recreate one, this is as close as I have gotten. They do not have bubbles, more like jagged glass. @brumbe No, I have not had one in over a week, knock on wood. A lady I met suggested that I decrease my consumption of carbs and up the protein. She gets them when she eats a lot of carbs. It has helped me, I think. Yes, watermelon bubbles from a very fermented melon.
Wow! I get migraines too, but I haven't even thought about what they would look like--I hate thinking about them because that's a trigger for me!!! This is a great interpretation of your migraine...hmmm, now it makes me think I should try to visualize what mine look like...
This is a beautiful picture. Migraines are terrible. Mine are triggered by stress or (funnily enough) the opposite - when I'm on a real high. I've never noticed auras with mine before. Next time I have one I'm going to see what I "see". I'll also look into your carbs suggestion. See if what I eat is triggering them. I'll try anything. Hope you stay migraine free for a good long while.
I have had problems with my left eye lately partly due to wearing varifocals for the first time & this is exactly what I see out of the corner of my eye !! amazing example of what is hard to describe !
@lorihiro@carriesmart I get the visual auras just before the brain pain sets in. It gets so bad that I get tunnel vision and can not see well at all until it goes away. My doctor told me to take Advil with my migraine med and that does help. I also have found that if I take a bit of sweet chocolate along with the med and Advil, that it helps lessen the pain.
@grannysue I live an almost carb free lifestyle (I eat a few servings a fruit a week, and a whole grain twice a week) and have reached the point where a few wines or beers a week. I also eat all vegetables (except corn, beans, carrots, peas) without any concern.
I love the processing. Cool colors and interesting effects that make it look like a migraine. I get them to but mine are zigzag lines that are moving very fast.
