I am grateful I got to meet my mom's friends at the DC Arboretum when she took us along for her weekly volunteering gig. There was also an adorable labrador to pet, an "Eagle Cam" showcasing a mother and father Bald Eagle with two eaglets, and my mom made us a meatball sub lunch (my favorite dish before my vegetarian phase). *And* she fell for the fake tattoo I put on for her benefit -- an early April Fool's Day gift.
