On hold by halkia

On hold

4.20 pm: This photo looks sort of staged but isn't. Our younger daughter, who used to be a very fast walker (she never actually walked but always ran) has been walking excruciatingly slow lately. She also grinds to a halt whenever she sees something interesting, which is all the time.
The photo was taken at the far end of our street, where she stood for several minutes studying a fence.
Stunning shot. I can imagine this as part of a glossy magazine spread. My three-year-old is the same; a 10 minute walk takes an hour as she is so fascinated by everything she sees! It's good though, it encourages us grown ups to slow down a bit!

I love all the lines and brickwork. And those two windows...lots to look at...I love her eyes looking upward too. Great photo

love this! wonderful place for her to stop...:)

love the patterns in the brickwork and pavement and your daughter looks so cute! My daughter at that age only had two speeds - stop and very fast in the wrong direction!

Oh, do I ever remember this. But I love how she seems to have learned from you to really look. love the bricks and how you captured your lovely daughter

that's so interesting the way kids do that. i guess we take so many things for granted as we grow up.

Adorable shot! My grandson, who is maybe around the same age is the same way. They do, do such cute things.

Fav for me - what's great shot and bless her for seeing everything (unless her eyes need testing and she's just trying to focus!!)
January 20th, 2012
It's a wonderful shot, I love where you placed her compositionally with the windows and brick.

@carrapeta00 Thanks :) I bought my G12 in June last year, and before that I had the similar G10. My entire project is shot with either of these cameras, it has a lot of opportunities!

@halkia ,

and I bet you love them ;)

let me ask you a question about the camera I was not able to find an answer... if you set the self timer shutter realease, can you customize that I set for 30 second multiple pictures for example?
I had an old powershot that had that option and it was the best to make my yoga selfies... hopefully this g12 can also do that. Can you kill my curiosity? Thank you.

This is absolutely adorable. I feel your pain re the walking, kids are wonderful daydreamers! I bet we'll miss that about them one day!!!
January 21st, 2012
@carrapeta00 Yes, that's possible. You can customize the G12 self timer shutter release to anything between 1-30 seconds and 1-10 pictures. It really is a lovely camera :)

fav'd and following- Judith , I too was the kind of kid that took forever to take a walk- I would have to stop and look at every little acorn, insect, leaf, cows on a hill, etc. I don't know how old your daughter is- maybe 3 or 4 I suspect but have your ever thought about giving her a little digital camera and see what she comes up with. I know there are inexpensive cameras for kids- around $39.oo or so- I would love to see what she sees.
