I was taken by this work at the Wellcome Foundation by artist William Cobbing (2003) which is actually called 'Palindrome'.
The sign explains: 'Evolutionary developmental biology has revealed that the same structures have adapted for different purposes in different animals. Here the artist explores the notion that the human pelvis and skull may also have had the same evolutionary origins. Palindrome was inspired by a section in J G Ballard's 'The Atrocity Exhibition', in which a character imagines that "the bones of the pelvis may constitute the remains of a lost sacral skull".'
Constructive criticism very much appreciated - keen to learn more and improve. I bought a decent camera in February 2016 and joyed this wonderful space...
My brain reinterpreted this to make it more logical when I first looked. I love things that give a little extra to think about. So this is in the museum on Euston Road? Very interesting - thanks for the info.
